The countdown has begun. On 10, 11 and 12 June, the roof garden will be open! For the second time, this exciting programme invites you to discover 35 of the city’s roof gardens. The Rotterdam Rooftop Festival is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy Friday evening drinks on rooftop patios, concerts, silent disco evenings, dance workshops, wine tastings, bars, a roof cinema and sporting activities, plus a fun programme for kids, as well as the knowledge day for professionals on Friday. The rich and diverse programme has something for everyone – old and young, connoisseurs and fitness enthusiasts, music lovers and professionals.
Parking Westblaak will be free all weekend. On the rooftop you’ll be treated to culinary delights, dancing, and boot camp sessions (between 12.00-13.00 p.m.). There are even special activities for children. And, on the roof of the Thornico Building you can meet Richard and the bees – and experience the spectacular view!
Rotterdam’s first mountain bike race
On Sunday morning, racing cyclists can compete in Rotterdam’s first mountain race, ‘Mont Thornico’, a contest to see who’ll make it to the top of the parking garage first. Awaiting contestants is a wonderful casse-croûte, a massage and a real-life doping test. Contestants will be officially timed, and Alderman Adriaan Visser will award the polka dot jersey to the winner – who’ll hold the title of Mountain King or Mountain Queen of Rotterdam for a year.
